1 lb. Lean ground beef or turkey Plus toppings: shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, salsa, chopped tomatoes, chopped black olives, sour cream, whatever you like! Combine the first four ingredients in a large skillet and cook over medium heat for about 8 to 10 minutes, breaking the meat into lumps. When the meat is brown and the vegetables soft, drain off any fat in the pan. Add the next three ingredients and cook another 7 to 10 minutes until the mixture is thickened. Warm the taco shells by following the package directions. In the meantime, assemble the toppings. When all is ready, gather the family around and allow each person to build their own Mexican masterpiece! Enjoy. (Makes 12 tacos) |
