This is the third post in a three-part series chronicling an imaginary rematch of sorts between two fabled opponents: the Tortoise and the Hare. In Part 1, we met Timmy “Too Fast” Tortoise. In Part 2, we met Henry “Hasty” Hare. For the final post in this series, we learn how their showdown plays out.
As noted in Part 1 of this series, the Hare and Tortoise have both started families since their famous race through the forest. With loved ones in mind, each has decided to give their children a head start in life. After all, life in the forest can be tough and unpredictable.
After researching the different types of life insurance, Timmy “Too Fast” Tortoise decides that a whole life insurance policy for his tortoise children might be the best choice for his family. Upon overhearing “Too Fast” discussing this decision with another tortoise, Henry “Hasty” Hare jumps at this chance for redemption.
“Funny you should mention that, Timmy,” the Hare rudely interjects. “Not only did I think of that idea faster, but I bet that I also can get a whole life insurance quote faster than you can.”
Although the Hare hadn’t actually thought of the insurance idea first or faster, he was quite sure that he could get a quote faster. So, when the Tortoise slowly agreed to another challenge, the Hare wasted no time in dashing down the road toward the nearest life insurance agency.
“Timmy,” the other tortoise said, “the Hare is already half way there by now, and you haven’t even moved. How will you get an insurance quote quicker?”
Ahhh… As we all know, Timmy is a wise tortoise. He has outsmarted the Hare before, and he would do so again.
While the Hare scampered into town, Timmy simply returned inside his home, got on his computer, and went to the Gerber Life website…where he found the page for the Grow-Up® Plan¹. Once there, he quickly and easily was able to get a free quote for a whole life insurance policy quote for his children.
Meanwhile, a phone rang in the office of the local life insurance agent. The agent, who had just sat down to meet with the newly arrived Hare, excused himself to answer the call. A puzzled look developed on his face.
“It’s for you,” the insurance agent said to the Hare.
“For me?” the Hare repeated, startled. “Who even knows that I’m here?” On the other end of the line, the Hare heard a familiar voice, slowly speaking – the voice of the Tortoise.
Timmy “Too Fast” Tortoise quietly informed Henry “Hasty” Hare that he had already received a quote for a life insurance policy to protect his family, and that he would be happy to help Henry get one as well, should he need assistance.
With the help and quick action of Gerber Life, the Tortoise had won yet again.
